A safe, clean exit for a community landmark, and a clean site for what came next

Award-winning building systems for a growing community's library.
Hydronic in-floor heat, radiant ceiling panels, solar water heating, full electrical and security design, then construction supervision and commissioning.
In 2010 the Kennebecasis Valley Public Library needed to expand its single-storey slab-on-grade building to serve the growing populations of Rothesay and Quispamsis with more programs, modern technology and better services.
Working with Richard & Co. Architecture, we designed the building systems for the new library: heating, ventilation and air-conditioning built around hydronic in-floor heating, hydronic radiant ceiling panels and solar water heating; domestic and sanitary water; fire protection; power distribution; data and communications; building management and controls; lighting; emergency power; and access control and security. Design was completed in 2011, with construction supervision and commissioning in 2012 and 2013.
The design received several honours, including an Efficiency New Brunswick award, Green Globes certification and a Best Addition to the Valley award for 2012.
