Approvals for Atlantic Canada's first utility-scale solar farm

Carbon accounting across a seven-facility supply chain for ASC certification.
We calculated direct, indirect and upstream and downstream emissions across two feed mills, four hatcheries and a sea site, supporting Aquaculture Stewardship Council certification.
Cooke Aquaculture sought third-party certification for fish harvested from its Liverpool Sea Site in Nova Scotia under the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, the independent not-for-profit established by the World Wildlife Fund to reduce the social and environmental impacts of aquaculture.
Fundy Engineering assessed greenhouse gas emissions for seven Maritime facilities in Cooke’s integrated supply chain: two feed mills that supply four freshwater smolt hatcheries that in turn stock the Liverpool site. After site visits in July and August 2015, we calculated direct, indirect, and indirect upstream and downstream emissions of carbon dioxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, methane and nitrous oxide, expressed as carbon dioxide equivalent using standardized conversion factors.
We also recommended how future assessments should be run so results stay comparable year over year. The Liverpool Sea Site received ASC certification in October 2016.
